Frequently asked questions

How much Lambda executions do I get allocated during my 14 day trial?

The default Lambda execution limit during the 14-day trial is 5 million executions. For complex proof of concept pilots of Dashbird, please contact the sales team to cater to a greater volume need for your trial.

How do I set up Dashbird?

Setting up Dashbird takes under 5 minutes and requires no code changes. To start, sign up and follow the on-screen instructions to link your AWS account with Dashbird.

Do I need to change my code to have Dashbird monitoring?

No, Dashbird does not require any code or configuration change. You will only need to deploy a pre-formatted CloudFormation stack, which takes less than 5 minutes.

What services do you support?

Here are the resources that Dashbird supports.

  • Amazon Lambda
  • Amazon DynamoDB
  • Amazon Simple Queue Service (SQS)
  • Amazon Elastic Container Service (Amazon ECS)
  • Amazon API Gateway
  • HTTP API Gateway
  • RDS

How can I be sure that my data is secure?

Dashbird takes security very seriously. Dashbird is SOC-2 compliant and AWS Advanced Technology Partner. Dashbird keeps your data encrypted in compliant with the industry best practices.

How is my data stored in Dashbird?

Dashbird imports logs and metrics from AWS CloudWatch APIs and uses encryption-at-rest to keep it safe. After that, the data is processed and analyzed into data metrics, which are then stored in another secure database. All our storage systems are hosted in AWS.

How long does it take for Dashbird to read Lambda logs?

It usually takes under 30 seconds after the execution for logs to be visible in Dashbird.

Is there any overhead or latency added to my Lambdas?

Dashbird does not affect the performance of your lambda functions. We get all the information we need indirectly from AWS CloudWatch APIs.

Is there added cost to my AWS bill?

Dashbird polls AWS CloudWatch APIs to gather data from your cloud components. For AWS Lambda function Logs, AWS charges data transferred out of CloudWatch equivalently to data transferred out of an EC2 server. Check it out at AWS CloudWatch pricing. The total cost should represent a tiny percentage of your total AWS bill. For other cloud components (SQS, ECS, DynamoDB, etc), the cost will depend on how frequently you determine the polling frequency. Each API request will be billed according to CloudWatch API pricing set by AWS.

Do you offer any discounts?

We have discounts for all plans when you sign up for an annual subscription. If you're a non-profit or an early-stage startup, feel free to contact us for additional discounts.

What our customers say

Dashbird gives us a simple and easy to use tool to have peace of mind and know that all of our Serverless functions are running correctly. We are instantly aware now if there’s a problem. We love the fact that we have enough information in the Slack notification itself to take appropriate action immediately and know exactly where the issue occurred.

Thanks to Dashbird the time to discover the occurrence of an issue reduced from 2-4 hours to a matter of seconds or minutes. It also means that hundreds of dollars are saved every month.

Great onboarding: it takes just a couple of minutes to connect an AWS account to an organization in Dashbird. The UI is clean and gives a good overview of what is happening with the Lambdas and API Gateways in the account.

I mean, it is just extremely time-saving. It’s so efficient! I don’t think it’s an exaggeration or dramatic to say that Dashbird has been a lifesaver for us.

Dashbird provides an easier interface to monitor and debug problems with our Lambdas. Relevant logs are simple to find and view. Dashbird’s support has been good, and they take product suggestions with grace.

Great UI. Easy to navigate through CloudWatch logs. Simple setup.

Dashbird helped us refine the size of our Lambdas, resulting in significantly reduced costs. We have Dashbird alert us in seconds via email when any of our functions behaves abnormally. Their app immediately makes the cause and severity of errors obvious.
